The Drawing Challenge for this week was hosted by me and I chose the theme of finger painting. I remember the fun I had as a kid finger painting in kindergarten and first grade. It's quite messy but loads of fun.
To see all the artists who joined this week's challenge click on their names below and you'll be taken to their blog page. Enjoy!

Great fun!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy weekend:)
Totally! I guess you'll not be finger painting while trying to keep your house clean for the viewers!
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend, dear Annamaria :)
Dear Carole how I loved this theme. Thank you so much for taking us all on this wonderful ride. Me, I missed the finger-painting boat. I've never done it before. So you can see by my contribution that I was very tentative and kind of stingy with the 'marks' I made. But it was the nature of the piece I was doing. I plan to do much more of this kind of painting. I enjoyed it so much. Your pink trees are a calm tranquil oasis that I enjoy seeing. Isn't it amazing the exciting marks the fingers can make? *smiles* Norma
ReplyDeleteYay, I'm glad you joined in the fun! Your finished finger painting didn't give me the impression of ever being stingy! Have a good week, Norma. :)
DeleteVery nice Carole
ReplyDeletethe colours are heavenly..... and I really love the textures that can be achieved .
This was way too much fun Carole (work got pushed aside heehee) I got a lot of satisfaction out of doing this challenge.
Thanks for the theme have a great week Helen :)
Yay Helen, I'm so glad you enjoyed this challenge! I've really enjoyed all the ones I've participated in. They often push me out of my comfort zone but that's a good thing! Happy week to you.
Deleteoh, how fun! I had to join the party... I'll post a photo of mine tomorrow on my blog, it's still drying... I had paint all over my fingers, and I went out into the living room and said to my husband, "you've got something on your face, here let me get it for you..." for some reason, he didn't want me to touch him! :)
ReplyDeleteOkay Deb, I'll add your name to the list and link it to your blog! Thanks for joining us. Can't blame the guy!
DeleteWow Carole - gorgeous. So expressionistic. For me, Cherry Blossom Time - Big Time! (Also really love your finger photos!)
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, Thanks. I was sitting under our ancient apple tree while finger painting. Maybe you'd like to join in the next challenge?
ReplyDeleteoh carole, what a beautiful painting, so fine colours under the apple tree!!! I love the pictures of your fingers - a litte art work, too!

Thank you Mano. I'm glad you enjoyed this theme. It was fun to finger paint again!
Deletei'm sipping morning coffee in the shade of your happy trees. they do remind me of the gorgeous cherry blossoms we have in our park, whose blossom i missed yet again this spring... but not completely, because i find them here!
ReplyDeletei think i may not have liked it way back, in kindergarten, hand painting. and here too, i was cautious to just use one finger.
still! great fun!! what a good suggestion!!

Hi Nadine, morning coffee there, getting ready for bed here! I'm so glad you enjoyed this theme. Maybe could do a foot painting theme sometime? That could be fun and I bet the paintings would be even wilder and more out of our control!
ReplyDeleteHave a good day. xo
This challenge makes me want to play and play. Only wish I had the time these days. Your piece is magical and lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marie. I hope you'll get some time soon to play again!
DeleteDreamy pink blossom trees, blossoms drifting beneath so I can lie down under them and dream some more. Happy new week, Carole! -sus
ReplyDeleteDreaming away Sus! Happy week to you too.
DeleteOh what fun!!! Haven't done that in a long long time!
ReplyDeleteI recommend finger painting for everyone!
Deletehello Carole, i'm quite late to visit everyone who took part in this delightful challenge because i often work during the weekends.
ReplyDeletei see we had the same idea, doing our painting outside i mean.
you created some very dreamy tree landscape, light and fresh, a restful place inviting me to walk into, beautiful! xx
Hi Renilde, better late than never! Outside seemed like a good place to finger paint, in the shade under a tree. Have a good week. xo
DeleteHow fun, Carole - if only I had some paints. Sometimes when drawing with my pastels I do a lot of blending with my fingers. Messy but fun!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Jenny
Painting with pastels works too Jenny and can be just as messy!
DeleteEn plein air pinkie painting - what a good idea! Thanks for a fun "challenge" I've just finished enjoying a tour of the lovely bits and enjoying some blogs I hadn't yet discovered. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome Sue! I'm glad you toured around and met all these creative and wonderful blog friends. If you go to Ariane's blog you will see a column with the challenges so far and the next challenge will be posted there too. You might want to do this again!
DeleteDear Carole,
ReplyDeleteI love that first pic of your fingers. Your fingers, caressing the paper, dabbing, a little bit fresh is the colour and gooey. Creating a wonderful painting!
x Ariane.
Hi Ariane, thank you. A little dabbing to big with and then full hands on! xo
DeleteThis is brilliant!! fantastic painting! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Fred! When was the last time you finger painted? It's heaps of fun! :)
DeleteI've got to admit, I always start with a brush but end up using my fingers, most of the paintings on my blog have parts done with my fingers hahaha! Last time I painted with my fingers was probably about 2 days ago...
DeleteJust reading this post now. I used to love to finger paint - on the blackboard mounted over the kitchen table. Chalk worked very well as finger paint. And when it dried you could see all the strokes stand out.
ReplyDeleteWill have to put this on my retro 'to do' fun list.
You have a retro fun list? fun idea, Robin!
DeleteThis looks like so much fun Carole! I am thinking a rainbow of colours...I just might give this a try. You are inspiring, as always... :)
ReplyDeleteJeanne, I think you might want to unpack before you start finger painting in Vietnam! Then go for it!!!!!!!
