Lazy Monday

Our weekend was full with a wedding to attend and a grand baby to snuggle. However, I snuck in a little drawing time.

The WEDDING!

A very dear friend of my daughter's got married this weekend. We have know the bride since the girls attended high school together. I must confess, I shed a few proud and happy tears.

The Bestman and Maid of Honour (our daughter and mother of our grand baby)
The Bride and her Father walking her down the stone stairs to the arbour

The GRAND BABY!
Does this look like a tired baby? As helpful grandparents we agreed to babysit the night of the wedding so her parents could attend the reception. These photos were taken at 11pm after she had been changed into her sleepers and fed. Her Nana and Poppa were tired so we walked her and rocked her and when she fell asleep so did we!

Here is my new journal for the Circle Journal I've been working on Since January 1, 2012. The old one is full and stretched to the point it won't close, even when tied up tightly!

How are your projects coming along? Is anyone starting a new one in September? Have fun and thanks for reading my blog!

  1. dear Carole, thanks for your comments on my blog.
"icke" means: I or me (?) in german, it is Berlin slang.
I started to take pictures with an older camera non digital in black and white, some kind of new project, I will see. So funny to have to wait so long until I can watch the results!
Have a good time, these sketch books are beautiful,

  2. Awe Carole, your sweet baby granddaughter. How wonderful you got to keep her. My only grandson is still in Montana...it's been close to a year since we have seen him.

I love the look of a full journal...doesn't it make you feel like you really accomplished something?

I have so many projects going that I am wishing life would just stop so I could finish them!

  3. Your grandbaby is such and sweetie-cutie-pie! The wedding looks like a fairytale... A bright sunny garden wedding, lovely.
Alas the summer has gotten away from me with little to no sketching in my journal but good progress is being made on the boarder to my colorful marriage quilt. Gargoyles are running around in my head, perhaps they will make it out in September...
    Have a great day.
    Always, Queenie

It is inspiring to see your commitment to circles. ....wish I could find a niche for an ongoing project but it dosn't seem forthcoming. We are almost through summer, I am looking forward to renewed energy in the fall.

  14. Good morning Carole,
Your profile says you like a good chat ... me too ! I got your link in Artists in Blogland which I just joined.
I live in Ontario, am a fibre artist who dabbles in Pen & Ink.
I'm about to go camping (all alone) for the next 3 weeks and I am taking 1 project to finish and 1 to start and a couple of others to play with. Also taking pencils, pens & ink ... sounds daunting, but I hope to make a big dent in my to-do list.
Beautiful Gr.baby ... I am expecting my 9th in Jan.
I hope you will find time to visit my blog and drop a comment .

  16. Hi, Carole. Lovely post, beautiful bride and daughter, adorable baby--and there's a reason why you should have babies when you're young. When my daughter stayed (doing research) for nine months with her newborn, it was a rough nine months without a good night's sleep once. But no regrets. I've have started about 5 new projects in the last couple of weeks and will start stitching on an old bed quilt that is showing holes. I may be adding lots of circles to it--inspired by your circle journal! And it just rained this weekend and the temperatures finally dropped--love that natural air conditioning! Even had to put a quilt on the bed. Whew!
    best, nadia
