13 Paintings Opening Night at Artzi Stuff Gallery in Old City Quarters, Nanaimo, went really well. We had a good turnout of supportive cheerful people considering the rain. I gave a talk featuring my favourite brushes, palette knife, acrylic paints, etc. There were lots of good questions asked that I hopefully answered fully. I can't thank Tanya enough for exhibiting my work in her gallery and for putting on such a delicious assortment of snacks.

Hi Ariane and thank you! I don't like getting photos taken of me but it's nice for everyone to see who they're following.
DeleteThat's wonderful Carole! And I love seeing a photo of you...your hair is grown out here in comparison to your profile pic. I would have really liked to hear your talk.
ReplyDeleteHappy day to you!!! xo
Thanks, Lisa. Hair has a way of growing and I have a way of letting it go! Happy days to you too! xo
DeleteCongratulations on the opening. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen. xo
Deletecongratulations, that was a very brave thing to stand up and talk…I'm sure I would have crumbled!
ReplyDelete(love the red shoes!)
Thanks, Suzie. In my mind it seemed worse than when I actually did it!
DeleteI bought the shoes a few years ago in Paris! :)
Congratulations Carole lokks like you are off to a good start.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jo. I wonder what February will bring each of us? Have fun!
DeleteWhat a great place to exhibit your art! Glad the evening went so well.
ReplyDeleteHi Lorrie, if you ever make it up to Nanaimo you should drop into Artzi Stuff for a look. Tanya carries some wonderful Island artist's work.
DeleteGREAT pictures! (Only 2nd to your artwork). Love the painting behind your portrait with Tanya. Birdies are always good. I know it's hard to post a photo portrait. I would have loved to hear your talk as well. Bet I could have learned a lot.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Robin. I'm not someone who feels very comfortable in front of the camera so the pics often look stiff. These ones show me more relaxed so I quite like them. I can't remember what I said at the talk now. Good thing I had notes!
DeleteYour work looks great on those walls, and YOU look cool and collected lecturing. Good job! -sus
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sus. It was easier than I thought and way more fun than I had imagined! The camera flashing was a little unnerving but even that didn't interfere with me talking about my favourite painting tools! xo
Deletedear carole,
