I can't tell you what kind of raptor was having his photo taken or the breed of chickens, goats or donkeys we saw along the way but they captured our interest for long stretches of the day. What's got your attention this week?

Country Backroads
Wet winter days and stuffy head colds lead to cabin fever so we packed ourselves up and headed south for the day. We drove along the backroads down to Sooke, Metchosen, and Cowichan Bay. Each spot offered an assortment of inspiring sights and laughs and good coffee shops!

ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Always, Queenie
Thanks, Queenie. I hope your day is good too!
DeleteLove your pictures! Must have been a rich trip- and no snow. Is spring not far away now? Loved seeing all the critters.
ReplyDeleteYes, spring is on its way, Robin!
DeleteWe had snow for maybe 24 hours here. Lot's of grey and wet days. I'll be glad for spring.
What a fun day Carole! Right now I am feeling a bit trapped in winter. But we are heading on a road trip next week - into more winter, but at least it will be a bit different. Thanks for sharing your images made me smile.
ReplyDeleteRoad trips sure help break the winter trappings. I can't imagine how long winter must be for you, Kim. I hope you have a great time away!
DeleteThe snowdrops are out here so Spring definitely somewhere around the corner - whahay!!! Taking my 11 year old grandson to Edinburgh on Valentine's Day was a plus for a widow woman like me -spending it with a goodlooking young man - though we went by bus - 3 hours and the bus broke down on the way home which he thought was a wonderful adventure and all i could think about was the toilet :>))
ReplyDeleteWow, your Valentine's Day sounds perfect, except for the bus breaking down! It's looking like spring here with the robins and finches coming back from their winter holidays.
Deletewhat fun pics...looks like it was a great day...just the kind of quirky things I would stop and look at too...
ReplyDeleteQuirky often make the best photos and reasons to stop. Happy quirky stopping to you this weekend, Amy!
DeleteLooks like you had a delightful and interesting trip. Your photos are rich sources for art.I envy your area for it's inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHi Eva, day trips are a fun way to get out and about. Vancouver Island is a beautiful part of the world for sure and I do feel blessed to be able to live here. Take care.
DeleteExceptional photos, Carole. Hope your cold is brief. My attention is captured by this blue sky day we are blessed with after several weeks of rain rain rain.
ReplyDeletexxoo, sus
Why thank you, Sus! It was sunny here this morning but the clouds have rolled in again. xo
DeleteGreat photos of a wonderful day. Daffodils have bloomed in my yard here in southern VA, but today snow is falling.
ReplyDeleteWhat.....daffodils one day and snow another!!!!!
DeleteHallie, your hopes must have been dashed when you saw snow today.
Hi Carole,
ReplyDeleteWe're still ankle-deep in snow here in Ontario but your photos were a promise that our spring will come soon !
Thanks for posting them.
I will continue to read some more of your blog !
Sharron
Hi Sharron, I'm so glad you can see spring is on the way!
DeleteI keep forgetting there's parts of Canada without snow. If I went on a day trip I would have a very different story to tell in pics. I am feeling stir crazy lately and my husband confirmed similar feelings. This is when we start to think about our summer house. I am so looking forward to new growth and lots of green.
ReplyDeleteYour side of Canada is sure getting hit with winter this year, Margaret!!! I hope you see green and blossoms really soon.
Deletelovin' these pics, wish I was there! Can I come next time!!
