Self-portraits have been done by I'm guessing millions of artists from one end of the world to the other. The first were done on rock walls and are have continued to be made through the ages. Artists are creating self-portraits as I write this.
Here are mine.
Will you post yours and leave me a link so we can have a look? Oh......come on.....don't be shy!

ok, mine is already postet.
ReplyDeleteyours are great and a bit scary, I like that!

Stefanie, love your crown!

These are fun! Love the way your hair forms a halo around your face.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lorrie. The hair halo was a cool surprise.
DeleteWeird and spooky and great! I especially love the first one-the way the eyes came out. Perhaps you could have a self-portrait project this year to replace the circles?! They make me think of a doll too.
ReplyDeleteSarah! I love the idea of the self portrait project! Thanks. xo
DeleteThese are cool! It's funny because I'm working out an idea for a selfie right now for putting on my website…if and when it gets done, I'll give you a shout!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Suzie. Yes, please do let me know!
DeleteI must be the only artist who doesn't have a ready stock of self portraits. I have tried self portraits but none have been finished. Yours are very interesting
ReplyDeleteHey Margaret, I never had any self portraits until we got a Mac computer. I enjoy playing with the images I take on Photo Booth. I can alter the pics any way I want. ;)
DeleteDear Carole!
ReplyDeleteA very clever way to show us yourself and not do it anyway ;)
Number three is my favourite. You look like coming out of a magic bottle!
lots of love
I've like having my picture taken so when I play with Photo Booth I have control of the outcome.....to hide or not to hide... that can be the question, Demie!
DeleteI like these but I wonder why you chose a negative image when you are so positive in persona?! I imagine art trumps right?!
ReplyDeleteI have a self portrait thing going...I take a photo of myself and then alter it with my art work...my face as canvas. It's a way for me to immerse myself in my aging face without freaking out! I like a lot of the results and have actually come to accept that I am in fact growing old and it's not such a bad thing.
Yes Marie, art trumps....! There are days when I look in the mirror and can't believe it is my face reflecting back to me. Where did those wrinkles and bag and sags come from? These photos hid them well. :)
DeleteLove the self portraits Carole! I struggle with taking pictures of myself, but bravely put mine up for others to see - thanks for your comment on it!
