A Quote From Paul Klee

“One eye sees, the other feels.”
― Paul Klee

These photos are close up shots of pages from a braille magazine. The magazine is meant for a sightless person to read through their fingertips. I've closed my eyes and tried to make out the shapes with the tips of my fingers. I am in awe of those who can read with their fingers.

It's quiet on the front. Time to feel a brush in my hand again. Have a great week everyone!

  1. Carole, is this Braille magazine goign to end up in a painting or other piece of artwork? I agree - it is amazing to think that someone can read with their fingers. Saw your note on my blog - thank you! In all my travels I let my blog account lapse so that is why you couldn't leave comments for awhile but I'm up and running again! Would love to do a road trip soon but still fighting this weird respiratory ailment. When it's sorted we will definitely do something fun!

I'll be looking forward to hearing you're feeling well enough to go tripping along the island. Take care.

    1. Summer is the most difficult season for me to paint...... there are just so many distractions and obligations.

  3. I enjoy running my fingers over Braille although I can't decipher anything. If I had to, I would.
Enjoy the brush in your hand.

  5. These are exceptional photos, Carole. I began thinking of a dotted swiss curtain but soon guessed: braille. Hope you are painting away!

  6. We do take sight for granted - I couldn't begin to imagine a world without vision. And yet, when I close my eyes the world I can create within my mind is breathtaking. Sometimes I don't know which is my reality.

Quiet is good - enjoy it - remember, you're a grandma now… noise will find you eventually…

    Warm hugs from Vancouver, Jenny

    1. Being a writer, Jenny, you create the most wonderful, colourful stories that I've closed my eyes and imagined what you saw! xo

I'm working on a few short stories for the upcoming SIWC in October… so those kind words have bolstered my confidence. Smiles to you.
