Art Challenge : TIDE

Ariane is hosting this weekend's Art Challenge at her beautiful blog ROSE .

This summer we moved across the street from the sea. I am much more aware of the tides. Each season brings higher and lower tides. Today it's windy and wet. The tide was high and the wind was blowing when I took this video. The painting was done earlier this week at a lower tide while the sun shone and the sea was calm.

I now have an link to Nanaimo Tide Schedule. Although it is a lot quicker just to peak out the window! Ariane has links to all the artists taking part in this Art Challenge. Sail on over to http://arianereichardt.blogspot.ca .

  2. Painting water...painting the tide. The water is liquid watercolor. I like the movement of the 'tide' [the pull of the forces of the moon and sun on our globe]; I like the movement of your painting. Nice! How fabby fabby fabby that you now live across the street is it, from the ocean! WooHoo. N,x

  3. I always discover the tide when I take my dog out walking to the beach.
I never look before I leave, don't really mind.

  4. Love the gentle watercolour Carole. How lucky we are to be so near the sea; you especially! Across the street! Imagine! One of these days I'm going to live across the street from the ocean too. No idea where but there's time. :D

  8. Yes, your painting is strong like the water of the ocean. These colour shade, delicious salty and here even sunny, shimmering and rough, great! Abstract and - not. It comes alive. Into your life. Lucky duck(s)!

  11. What a present of life to be able to watch the tide from home! I wish I could do that. I like your aspect of the different faces of the sea. One day, it's calm and beautiful and gentle, and on the other day, it's rough and wild.
