Art Challenge : Tropics

This week's Drawing Challenge: Tropic is hosted by the clever and talented Ariane.

Being fair skinned and blue eyed I knew exactly what to do….. a self portrait showing what colour I'd be if I was dropped into any tropical area of the world. RED, RED, RED from head to toes! Click here to travel to Ariane's blog for more renditions of "TROPICS".

Have a great weekend!

Super burned women. I like your colors too.

Even growing up in S. Ca. that was a problem.

    1. Thanks, Tammie. Just imagine a tropical beach with all us red peppers under the parasols!

  2. Same here, dear Carole! (even with dark blond hair and green eyed)
It hurts from watching... especially 'cause you set your red figures to comlementary green palms, Dear.

    Thank you for your painting!
I am in for your AC at the first weekend of March :-)
    Love, Ariane. Rose

    1. Tropic green and sunburnt skin is just so "wrong". Give us fair skins big umbrellas to save us!
Okay, I'll add your name to the Mar 3-5 Art Challenge.

  4. so, red hot is what I'm thinking here when I look at your figures. That would be what my head would look like if I were in the tropic. I'm not that good in extreme heat.

    1. Heat and tropics are just not ever going to be a part of my life!

  5. Oh yikes! Poor girl. I have very oily and olive Mediterranean skin which just goes brown, but the tops of my feet and that little area beside my underarms gets red if I'm not careful. Ouch! Really! Poor burnt women in your painting. Brilliant, but I do hope you're not one of them. :D

    1. Lucky you, Veronica. Yes, I have been one of these women, just not in the tropics!

  6. wouldn't want to even think of sun burn, because as much as i crave sunlight, i cannot bare the heat; so tropics are an iffy, for me... but i do like your interpretation. and stay out of the sun. and go dance in the snow, yeah? ;)))
see ya over the weekend! pig's ears! ☻
